Trump has indicated that the US is going to make agreements with Iran, thereby bringing this war to an end.

The question remains whether his words are true, or if he is deluding himself.

In any case:

1. Regime change has not taken place

2. The enriched uranium has not been removed from Iran

3. The Strait of Hormuz is now definitively in Iranian hands

In short, billions spent, billions destroyed in Iran and the surrounding area, enormous numbers of deaths and a great deal of suffering, and only very soft results.

On a scale of 100, where zero is a loss and 100 is a victory, I give it a 20 for the US. A sad result for a very ill-considered action.

When it comes to the diversion of the Epstein files, the result is different. Those have faded into the background for a while. That much is true. We must realize that there may also be other motives at play regarding the SMO in Iran.

The case for alternative energy has become enormously stronger because of this war. The world must no longer be so dependent on a strait controlled by the regime in Iran.

Iran has shown the US what Ukraine is showing the Russians. There are countries that, while not as big and powerful as you, cannot simply be subdued with brute military force.

If Russia and the US had not been so arrogant about their own strength, things could have turned out differently. Stupid dictators who wish to surround themselves with yes-men make stupid mistakes. We live in exactly such a world.
