BH> BH> "In the manner he did it.." BH> BH> Under the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 8), Congress holds the BH> primary power to lay and collect tariffs, duties, and imposts" BH> BH> The executive branch doesn't have the authority to levy tarrifs. FULL BH> STOP. BH> BH> It wasn't SCOTUS that narrowly interpreted it, it is one of the places BH> the constitution is incedibly narrow, and unfortunately anotehr area BH> congress has largely abdicated it's authority, removing checks and BH> balances. BH> Sure, what you said is almost true. The methods Trump is now using to collect tariffs have been tested by the courts already and the Dems have no recourse. The methods he uses NOW, post SCOTUS, has been tested. Trump is trying to bring back manufacturing for the working class. Hyundai is an example of this... They are moving a manufacturing plant to the US to avoid tariffs and in exchange they employ Americans (Working Class) and everyone has a warm fuzzy feeling. BTW, one of Canada's premiere Whiskeys moves to the US, it pissed off Doug Ford, Crown Royal wanted cheaper taxes and less regulations so it moved to a country who is who's system is pro growth. His efforts are to bring home manufacturing to help the US workers and economy and he wants to eliminate income tax for the less well to do. Cut him some slack. BH> BH> LOL, sure just like. DOGE Checks $5,000 (He claims he didn't say it, but BH> we all know he mouthpieces don't speak without his blessing, and he BH> endorsed it on national television. When in fact it was never seriously BH> proposed to congress by the administration. Lower price of groceries, BH> lower energy prices. BH> BH> Not only do all of the experts say this is impossible due to bad math, BH> but Trump himself doesn't even rememeber making the promise of rebate BH> checks, "I did do that? When did I do that?" BH> All of the experts?? BH> BH> Gee any why did we do that? Because tariffs weren't an adequate income BH> source, because the importation of goods actually limmits the money BH> those goods can generate, and it unduely burdens the consumers, while BH> bennifiting those with wealth.. BH> BH> Believing anything that comes out of the Trump administration at this BH> point is like beliving that the narcacist you are in a relationship with BH> is willing to change. BH> What you just said was not true... Tariff income prior to 1913 was sufficient, more than enough. There were Blue Ribbon groups setup on how to spend the excess. We don't have a income problem in the US we have a spending problem. I'm for small government. I'm for way less spending. WAY WAY LESS. Trump says he can balance the budget after he exposes all the fraud. This is good!!! I think he should focus on the debt and spending before he sends out any money to anyone.
