Could be.  I would call it as "applauding because it doesn't impact them and
because they think Trump hasn't figured out how they get their money yet."

Remember that the "Narrative is always true" for them.  That didn't support
their Narrative, therefore they have to pretend it wasn't said/didn't happen.
