I mentioned earlier about the Stepson...All parents should gear their conversations with their kids that way.

Be all you can be... Contribute to society don't take away from it.  I chose academia, my choice, I put myself through University.  I worked 2 jobs and paid for school as I went through it.  No government hand outs no public assistance.  I even bought a house while I was a student.  I graduated with 0 debt and a house.

My stepson became a welder, asked me a few questions along the way.  Now he's doing great and being productive.
