Subj : Pan Gagna Italian Sandwiches To : All From : Ben Collver Date : Sat Mar 28 2026 11:14 am MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Pan Gagna Categories: Italian, Sandwiches Yield: 4 Servings 1 c Cannellini or other white - beans; - cooked or canned, - rinsed & drained 1/4 c Basil pesto 1 Crusty Italian bread loaf - (9" round) 2 lg Red bell peppers; - roasted, cut into strips 6 Marinated artichoke hearts; - sliced 1 lg Ripe tomato; sliced 1/3 c Black or green olives; - pitted & chopped 1/4 c Balsamic vinaigrette Salt Black pepper; freshly ground Slices of grilled portobello mshrooms, zucchini, or other vegetables can be added if you like. In a food processor, process the beans and pesto together until smooth. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread in half horizontally. Remove some of the inside of the bread to make room for the filling. Spread the pesto & bean mixture inside the bottom half of the loaf and top with layers of the roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, tomato, and olives. Drizzle with the vinaigrette and season to taste with salt & pepper. Replace the top half of the loaf and wrap tightly in plastic. Place on a platter and top with a plate weihted down with some large canned goods or another weight. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 12 hours.
