Subj : 3/3 Dosa Day 5 To : All From : Ben Collver Date : Tue Mar 03 2026 06:47 am MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Dosas (Rice & Dal Cakes) Categories: Indian Yield: 24 Dosas 2 c Rice 1/2 c Black gram dal; split 2 ts Fenugreek seeds Salt; to taste 1/2 c Sesame oil 5 c Water Add salt and pepper to taste to the thick dosa batter and mix well. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet and coat with a little of the oil. Fill a large ladle with the batter and spread it in the skillet to form a dosa about 1/4" thick and 6" in diameter. Sprinkle a few drops of oil over dosa. Immediately top it evenly with 1 tb mixed vegetables. Lightly pat the vegetables with a spatula to embed them into the batter. Allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the underside is a golden brown. Gently flip to cook other side as well, then turn onto a plate. Dot with tomato sauce or tomato chutney and serve immediately. Continue until batter is finished. Should some batter be left over, it may be refrigerated and used the next day.
