Then why all the subterfuge with the hesitency to release them, on our side?

Well, you have painted yourself into a corner, either they are on your desk or the never existed.  You have painted yourself into a corner as you were lying then or you are lying now..  Which is it?

I think Trump stupidly made a compange promis before realizing or knowing that by doing so it would bring down powerful people in his own party.  I think those powerful people were betting that either the paper/digital trial was long gone, Trump would be distracted by other things on his agenda, or others in the loop would still play ball and not release the documents for fear bredth of the polical fallout.  They lost the bet, the gennie was now out of the bottle and everyone was in a full panic trying to figure out how to get it back in the bottle!

The has never stopped the wheel of justice from moving forward to arrests and trial for the commoon folk in the past, even when the media is the one tried and convicted the suspect before it even went to court, IE the security guard at the Atlanta Olympics.

The evidence is out there, the public demanded it.  IF there are any charges brought forth, it is up the lawyers on both sides to put it into context.
