2023-11-14 Tue 19:05 Watching movie while running Running in place. Yes, I have been running in place for a half year now. And I don't mean it metaphorically, rhetorically, or poetically, or theoretically or any other fancy way. I was running in place in my flat like on treadmill but without it. Barefoot on doormat, usually for an hour. First time I did it in spring this year. One day I just felt like running and because of my strong allergic reactions instead of going outside I spent 15 min running indoor in place. Next day again but for solid 1 h while listening to audio book on my Sony Ericsson W200. This felt great. I kept doing it ever since. One month I trained like that almost every morning. Yet another example that you don't need equipment to train. But Today I did something even stranger. Friend recommended me TV series called "Scavengers Reign". I was preparing to watch it but then I pondered: would it be possible to watch it while running? I don't know why I have such thoughts but I love them. Setup was for this sketchy but I managed to watch 2 episodes in a row. Each is around 25 min long so I run for 50 min. Maybe one day I might watch whole LOTR while running. * * * About the show. The art style. I can't be the only one who sees strong inspiration from art of Moebius. Some of the backgrounds looks almost exactly like his paintings. Color pallet, gradients, line of consistent thickness etc. I like it very much. Almost as much as the dialogues or rather lack there of. Also for me the main character of the story is the planet. The animals, insects and plants. After searching the interwebs I see that it's universally acknowledged that art style of backgrounds is heavily inspired by Moebius art. Another thing I found out was that from the beginning of production they tried very hard to avoid any dialog. It really shows, especially in first episodes. EOF
