MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Five Spice Pecans Categories: Snacks, Appetisers, Nuts, Herbs Yield: 4 Servings 4 ts Vegetable oil 2 tb Dark brown sugar; +1 ts 4 ts Water 1 1/2 ts Five-spice powder 1/4 ts Ground cumin 1/4 ts Black pepper; fresh ground 2 c Pecan halves 1/4 ts Salt Heat oven to 350°F/175°C. In a medium saucepan, warm 4 ts vegetable oil over medium-low heat. Add 2 tb +1 ts dark brown sugar, 4 ts water, 1-1/2 ts five-spice powder, 1/4 ts ground cumin, and 1/4 ts freshly ground black pepper; stir until sugar dissolves and mixture bubbles. Add 2 cups pecan halves; cook, stirring, until pecans are thickly coated, about 3 minutes. Spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper; sprinkle with 1/4 ts kosher salt.
