                        Chocolate Pudding Brownies

   6       tb           Butter -- softened
     2/3   c            Sugar
   2       lg           Eggs
     1/4   c            Milk
   1       ts           Vanilla
     1/2   c            Unbleached flour
   4       oz           Box chocolate pudding mix
     1/2   ts           Baking powder
     1/4   ts           Salt
     1/2   c            Nuts -- chopped
                        Powdered sugar

  Cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs, milk, and vanilla. Stir
  together flour, pudding mix, baking powder, and salt. Add to
  creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 9x9x2"
  baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Sift powdered
  sugar over top, if desired. Cut into bars.
  
  Yield: 24 Brownies
