About TreeView Forum 97' 2.0 Web Edition The TreeView Forum 97' script is designed for simple and quick communication within small web communities, scientific groups or technical web communities. This script is a modern replica of the popular treeview-based forums from the mid-1990s, originally written for CGI-BIN. The forum operates on files and does not require SQL, supporting PHP versions 8+, as it does not use anonymous functions. Unlike other file-based forums, TreeView Forum 97' features a built-in search system as well as an extensive statistics system. TreeView Forum 97 2.0 Web edition has an improved registration system, in keeping with the best traditions of 90s forums. Additionally, unlike other earlier treeview -based forums, you do not need to search for the latest replies in threads, as they are displayed on the right side of the forum. The design of TreeView Forum 97 is based on frames, as was common in the 90s. On the left, you will see a list of topics and the latest replies in those topics. The topic list supports pagination! In the right frame, you will find a search form for the forum, detailed statistics, and the latest user replies. The top frame contains a logo linked to the homepage, as well as a page refresh icon and a clock. TreeView Forum 97' is highly customizable and allows you to enable or disable scripts for visitor logging, as well as direct script execution (directlink). Unlike other file-based forums, this script includes a message length limitation and some basic protection against bots and spammers. TreeView Forum 97' is completely free and is designed for those who are not happy to viewing information in table format on modern BB forums. Due to your numerous requests, support for UTF-8 encoding has been implemented. Roman gopher://shibboleths.org 8 Feb 2026
