After years of maintaining it, I lost the urge to keep it going so away it went. In between, I instead decided due to time constraints to just keep up with my html page. While all of this was going on I also decided to revamp how I choose to do my computing. It started with moving away from a dedicated desktop computer using laptops. That led to Thinkpads running OpenBSD. When my last Thinkpad died, I decided to switch to a Macbook Air. I do not care much for MacOS but I do like the hardware and battery life. MacOS provides me with a BSD userland and a terminal so I decided all of my computing will be done through SDF. For quite awhile now I have done everything I need/want to do on SDF. I browse the web, maintain my own little projects, etc. The part about browsing the web is what has led me back to gopher. We all know it, the modern internet sucks. Let's be honest, it might as well be a dead internet. I can't tell what is and what isn't AI generated anymore. Since I do like trying to browse modern websites with lynx(1) I decided I might as well be part of the change that I want to see. Hence, gopher. I do not do any kind of system administration or programming as my $DAYJOB. I am solely a hobbyist. I'm not forced to use my computer in any particular way so I have the freedom to try to do as much as I can with a terminal. My goal is to keep this gopherhole as RFC1436 compliant as possible. Including trying to stick to a 67 character line length.
