12-04-21 ~~~~~~~ Miss Tillie Blanke c/o Municipal Tuberculosis Sanitarium 5601 N. Crawford Ave. Chicago, Illinois December 4, 1921 Mr. Theodore Blanke 626 LaFayette Ave. S.E. Grand Rapids, Mich. Dear brother Theodore: I received your letter and the picture. Thanks. The baby looks so cute. Donald is quite a big boy now. I think Edna's baby is bigger than yours. He is so big and heavy for her to carry and Leon don't help her. He sits and reads the paper evenings. I got a letter from her and she said the baby is cutting four teeth now, and she has so much work she has no time to write letters. The baby's birth-day is the 10th of December. It would be nice if you could send the things you have for the baby by the 10th. Edna will be glad to get them. She has no time to sew anything and no money to buy anything with. Dorothy sent her some clothes from her boy. Edna dyed her wedding dress. It's the only thing she has to wear. I gave her my oxfords from last summer. She is saving them for next summer if you will send me a good pair of black silk stockings (No. 10) to wear with them. I'll send you Arthur's letter. He wrote it to Edna, and Edna sent it to me. I was gone when it came. I think instead of sending play things for the children, if you want to send something help him get a set of teeth. I'm sure he needs them. His teeth were bad when I was there. I told him then he ought to go to the dentist, but he said he had no money. I guess that is the cause of his stomach trouble. Don't tell him I sent you the letter or wrote about his teeth. He might not like it. His boy was 3 years old the 3rd of November and the little girl will be two in April 29th. I got a letter from Dorothy. They sold their house. It was too big for her to take care of. Now they are renting. Fred works in Los Angeles. It takes him a half hour to ride to work in his car. He makes from $42 to $50 a week. Kochs are living out there too. He retired and rented their house in Hollywood. Dorothy's address is 82 Victoria Lane, Sierra Madre. I haven't heard from Ed for a long time. I was out to Emma's two weeks ago. I guess I told you Oma had an operation in September. It cost them $400. She is not well yet. She is nervous and feels weak. They take her out and she is up. Emma don't let her do anything. Martha got a $500 seal skin coat. I intend to go to see her this week. Emil is married again, to a rich widow. They went to Virginia on their honeymoon. I guess I told you that Einer sold his house and bought an automobile. They intend to move next spring. I'll have to move my trunk too. Emma said I could put it up in their garage. Do you think it would be safe in there? This is Sunday. I am going to write to Arthur and Edna and Dorothy if I have time. This is a long letter I wrote to you. Hope to hear from you soon and that you are all well. Best wishes and regards to all, from your sister, Tillie.
