11-06-21 ~~~~~~~ Miss Tillie Blanke c/o Municipal Tuberculosis Sanitarium 5601 N. Crawford Ave. Chicago, Illinois November 6, 1921 Mr. Theodore Blanke 626 LaFayette Ave S.E. Grand Rapids, Mich. Dear brother Theodore: I received your letter when I was at Edna's. I left Chicago the 1st of October and came back the 31st. Had a nice visit with Edna. She is very lonesome. No one comes to see her and she never gets any place. I feel so sorry for her. Too bad she ever got into that place. She is not satisfied living the way she has to. She was used to a different life before she was married. She didn't get anything to wear. Still wears the shoes for best that she had before she was married. She is not well, but does all the work and takes care of the baby. He is so heavy. Weighed 23 pounds when he was nine months old. The baby has no teeth yet. She carries him around and works. I didn't like her do that when I was there. I did all I could for her. The baby don't try to stand or creep. He looks just like Leon. I hope he don't take after him. Leon's sisters gave the baby the clothes and Dorothy sent her quite a bit. Leon didn't make hardly anything this summer. I am sorry that Donald broke out a tooth. Will he get another tooth or will he have to have one put in. I suppose the baby can walk by this time. Are you coming to Chicago again this fall or winter? I think I will go out to Emma's one day this week to take some of my summer clothes out and get some things. Herbert has a son born the 22nd of September on your birth-day. Martha spent 2 weeks in New York this summer. Emma & Einer, Genie & Ervine & family were all in Wausau and Minocqua. Best wishes and regards. Your sister, Tillie.
