10-30-21 ~~~~~~~ Arthur C. Blanke Pearce, Arizona October 30, 1921 (Ed:-- To Tillie Blanke and Edna Corbeille) Dear Sisters- I'll write you all at once including Leon and the baby. We got your letters quite a while ago and yesterday a picture of the baby. He looks like a big promising boy. We have had some kodaks of the children for some time but are so short of money we havent had any prints finished. Lucy is pretty buisy always. She does all her own work and if I get home late or feel bad She often helps me milk besides I am bothered lots with indigestion and headache since I had the flu. My teeth are about gone too. I want to get a set of plates this winter if possible. The weather is fine here. Had our first frost a few days ago. We had a fine garden again. I raised quite a lot of grain this summer besides. The season was good. I rented 400 Acres in the Stronghold this summer at the foot of the mountains. We intend to move up there in about a month. It's better farmland a big modern house on it. This year raised about 1600 bushels of grain on 85 acres. He's going to Florida, I'll leave the young cattle and dry cows here and keep the fresh cows there to milk. We'll be on the R.F.D. and have a telephone in the house also running water. I think its a good moove. None of the Fitzkes ever wrote. When I got Tillie's last letter I had a lot of other mail was in a car with a neighbor and when I got here one letter was missing. I think it was post marked Chicago but not sure and had not opened it. The wind must have blown it out of the car, if you know of any one writing to me iet me know who it was. We are all well the babies are playing outside barefoot. Tillie you said in your letter you dread the long winter. We'll have plenty of house room from now on and if you want to make your home with us, all you need to do is come over. Lucy said to tell you, You can have a room all to yourself and dont need to do only what house work you feel like. We dont have mutch money, but we always have plenty to eat. We'll be next door to the biggest peach orchard in this part of the State. I intend to put out a few grape vines for ourselves so we'll be comfortable I think. You can write to Pearce until further notice. I'll get it there for the present. The children are out playing with a little wagon one pulls the other tries to ride. They shout and laugh and Lucy is watching and laughing too. Best wishes & love from us to all, Art & Lucy.
