December 11th, 2014: I was searching through a long-ignored cabinet last night, and was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of mini 386sx motherboards I forgot I had. They belonged to my fellow Thug, Slam. One was labelled "DEAD", while the other had no such markings. The capacitors looked fine, as did the barrel CMOS battery, no signs of leakage. The non-dead board was populated with 3 x 30-pin 1Mb SIMMs with room for one more. It also had an empty spot for a 387 co-processor, which I will definitely try to find if this board actually works. If it DOES work, I'm going to have a *lot* of fun building it up in tandem with my 386 portable, using it to do the things I can't do with the portable for whatever reason (RAM, HD space, expansion slots, etc). If I have time this weekend, I'll grab a 16-bit VGA card, AT keyboard, and non-ATX PSU to test the board. If it works, the sky's the limit..
