Or something. Yeah, after a year or so of mulling it over I'm finally
giving this gopher thing a real shot. I dunno, I guess I'm just feeling
nostalgic or something. I may break the Nintendo out later and shoot
some ducks too.

Mostly I just wanted to play too. I like gopherspace and its text-only
nature. It's so much nicer to read things without the flashiness of
the web. Just cause you can embed "share this" buttons to 200 different
social sites doesn't mean you should.

Speaking of social sites, I, like many, have grown quite weary of every
last damned thing being tied to facebook/g+/etc... WTF is "pinterest"
anyway? That doesn't seem to be be a problem here. Since I'm not much
of a social person anyway, if I'm gonna put something out there, I might
as well stick it on some underground thing like gopher. Maybe I'll get
the therapeutic benefits of keeping a web log without the side effects
of people actually reading it (much?).
