10 December 2025 ---------------- To start on a positive note: My dad, who is now living for about a year and a half in an retirement home has made big recovery steps recently and is now contemplating how he could move back in with the rest of the family. I would never have thought that a dude at 85 with heart problems and a badly healed broken leg decides 'Nah, it sucks to be so frail... better make improvements'. Surprisingly he even started to make improvements in his walking abilities, which is even more surprising taking into account that the doctors who treated him said that he will never be able to walk more than a few steps again. Sigh, Currently i am driving my mom nearly every other day to some form of doctor, either the dentist (she finally decided to get a partial tooth prothesis), the general practicioner to get her blood pressure in order and the orthopedist to get her carpal tunnel syndrome fixed. It's weird, both my parents let everything regarding their finances and their general organisation go to ruins just to make the decision to get everything right now. Sigh, i really hope this is moving further into the right direction... would be cool to have the family back together in one place. Junior is was finaly a day without fever after being sick since last week, but in the night he still had pain (perhaps muscular?) which luckily could be remedied with 125mg Paracetamol. I really hope that he will get rid of this bug soon... when he is well over the day he is completely bored out because he misses the Kindergarten and counters that with wreaking havoc and being being extremely tired thereafter. A strange thing i notice around me is that more and more people seem to be getting aware that /something/ is not right. People are noticing that public services that have gone worse over the last couple of years on an accelerating rate and that the police, who has normaly a "not that bad" reputation here in germany, has turned more aggressive, more violent even toward the average (as in: without being minority / poor) person and has gained a somewhat mean streak. Also, political resignation or turning towards extremists seem now more common than ever. Today a coworker was sitting in my office complaining that his bank has now replaced the (already shitty) callcenter with an "AI" chatbot and telling me that he thought that this shift towards machines mimicing human interaction somehow feels... sick, somehow wrong. In general there seems to be a feeling of "things are wrong" in the population, some people i speak with are looking forward to a "big bang that shakes things up", others are hoping for things turning back to normal again... but nobody seems to look at the current state of the world and says: "Yup, we are heading into the right direction".
