일요일 2026년2월01일 - On Loan Seneca, De Tranquillitate Animi, Sect. 11: The wise man lives as one who is on loan to himself and intends to return everything without complaint when the debt is recalled This is an amazing sentiment, and one I hope to model within myself. To have no fear of loss because you make no claim to anything beyond your own volition is a powerful position. Property and possessions, social standing, and even the body and life itself, the wise man holds all these things loosely in his palm, and with gratitude for the opportunity to manage them for however long they remain with him, then to happily surrender them when that time comes to close. This is the parable of the Talents, to be a man who knows the debt will be called and so exercises what is given to the best of his ability, so that one day, when it is time to repay, not only will he be able to return what was given, but in a better state than which it had been received. --- Niri is going well, at least it seems to, and I feel I have settled on a configuration that works for me. However, I am still working out what to do for system status monitoring. Yambar, my favorite status application, is no longer being maintained, and I am increasingly dissatisfied with waybar. I would like to create a system where I do away with the bar altogether and instead use a system of notifications to inform me of the information I generally use the bar for. This is going to require some doing on my part, however, as I am not a deft hand at scripting and that seems to be what implementing such a solution is going to require.
