11 авг 2010 Dear all This Myspace profile is here to present "Jatinga", the third album by In A Nutshell, an experimental/psychodelic band from Moscow, Russia, yours truly. The tracks uploaded hereto are all unmixed, unmastered and played under their working titles. Yet, they give you a glimpse of a realm we are now creating. More instruments are to be added, some parts may change, so this is a picture to be painted just as Vrubel's "Demon" - a work that was completed when already exposed. Late August is known to some as the time when Perseids light up the night with desperately beautiful bright falling stars that leave traces of smoke in the summer sky. One of these August nights, somewhere around midnight, hundreds of bird sillouettes approach the fires set up by the villagers of Jatinga. Caught in a trance, these lost and confused creatures dance in the dark summer skies among the stars and meteors as they fall into the hands of the celebrating peasants, just to be coocked immediately - a gift of generous gods is therefore accepted. Named after the valley of falling birds, "Jatinga" consists of nine dances of birds, a prologue and an epilogue. Classical arrangements join the classic rock four-piece, and jazzy influences fuse with world music, be it a Caucasian choir, percussion or an accordeon. This is an album of a rock band that tries to think of the story and not the style, genre, vogue or reasonable matters of covenience. Jatinga is an attempt to reflect the sounds of the world on that late August night. An attempt that took us three years. Regards, In A nutshell
