Tuesday, 02 December 2014, 02:41 CST I've been running fluxbox on FreeBSD for a few weeks now. It's on an old 3GHz Pentium 4 with 2.5GB of RAM. It runs quite well, and I've actually been using it for some things. I also just got a new shortwave radio. The DX-398 still works quite well, but I wanted one even more portable, so I bought a Kaito KA321. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and the reception isn't too bad, so I'll probably be carrying it around during the holiday season. ============================================================================ Sunday, 07 December 2014, 02:46 CST, 08:46 UTC I've been using the new shortwave radio quite a bit. I'm pleased with it. It won't pick up the weakest signals, but it picks up enough of the strongest ones to be worth the $20. FreeBSD continues to perform well as a desktop. I have X running on a single monitor, but my video card has a TV output that's hooked up to an old CRT TV. The X server detected it in the initial automatic config, but I had to comment all that out to get it to work correctly. I may see if I can get X running on both the monitor and the TV this weekend.
