The Free BSD project.  FreeBSD is an operating system similar to unix.  FreeBSD can run on just about any type of computer and is frequently used on servers.
I recently got the source for FreeBSD and I was delighted to find that it only takes up 17 mbytes of storage space! Incredible considering how powerful the OS is.  This OS can also be booted through 
FTP at startup.  So cool.
