Game loop 1: Find tools and resources Go on an assassination quest Carry it out Return, rest and replenish health Repeat Game loop 2: Enhance or build a shelter Find necessary materials Build / craft Rest Repeat Game loop (main): Start in shelter/hub/base Go to staircase to select location The location is a list of randomly generated dungeons plus the "outside world" which isn't randomly generated and will typically be a city of some sort Description: The game loop mainly consists of something similar than Angband rather than Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead. In that, a vast open world isn't the best fit for a game with complex systems (imo) So the main point is to go to a dungeon of your choice level-up and gather resources/items to progress further Once you have enough cash/equipments you can choose to descend further or explore the city. The city is the main place to buy stuff, like the hub world in Angband. It shouldn't be too big so that the player can just walk around and explore a bit to find the relevant stores to buy stuff from. Another part of the game is upgrading the base with furniture and possibly other useful tools. It's a rougelike, so all progress will be lost when the player dies. Due to this, the game cannot be *too* dificult to play and beat. The city also shall contains some quests for extra EXP and Credit. .
