Disabling FireFox's AI features ==================================================================== LFA | 2025-10-12 | #privacy #mozilla #firefox #ai #llm ==================================================================== As many of you already know, Mozilla decided some time ago to put "AI fatures" into FireFox. People like me who are not happy with this has to do some tweaks to the browser configuration in order to get rid of such "features". In the address bar, the place where you type URLs and search terms, type the following: 'about:config'[1] in order to access the browser advanced config. You'll see a message with a button with the following text: 'Accept the Risk and Continue'. Click on this button and in the following screen you'll see a preferences search box. Use this box for searching the following options and set all of them to 'false': - browser.ml.enable - browser.ml.chat.enabled - extensions.ml.enabled - browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled - browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled - browser.tabs.groups.smart.userEnabled This post will be updated when changes arise. If you know of any other option that has to be set, let me know in order to keep this post useful for everyone. ____________________________________________________________________ [1] In this post single quotes are used as text delimiter, don't write them.
