         he's this really nice guy most of the time, he's really kind and i actually like him
         
         the only issue is that he is a sadist and i found out he is super into amputees

         I would avoid a serious relationship. You probably could still make good friends.
         
         Him being a sadist and having an amputee fetish might say something important about him, something that might only come out or become relevant once you're deep into a relationship. That's my amateur opinion.

         Fiction has endless "undo" buttons if the author wants, real life stuff would just be fucking up someone's life permanently for no reason.
         I wouldn't wish it on anyone real, but fiction is useful for exploring stuff without real stakes.
         That's my perspective on it, at least.

         The whole "kind but also a sadist" thing seems like something to watch out for, especially if you try to go for anything serious.
