ALL of them." Yay poems! Yay pageantry! Yay the Royals! http://www.b3ta.com/links/All_The_Kings_Queens_Of_... >> Rolf Harris' comics career << Ambegris writes, "This is all I have to say about the man. In a comics blog." We're personally saying nothing about Rolf, the bad taste gags are all played out and the whole establishment being apparently riddled with paedophiles is a bit grim, even for us. http://the-slipper.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/the-othe... ------------------------------------------------- : USVSTH3M CORNER The other project run by Team B3ta * SLAP GEORGE OSBORNE - the fun bit isn't just whacking him but you can see how many other slaps he's had too. About 250,000 at time of writing, our ambition is to get it to at least 1,000,000 then possibly some voodoo magic will happen. http://games.usvsth3m.com/slap-george-osborne/ * WHICH GENIUS DO YOU SLEEP LIKE? - click your sleep pattern to compare yourself to clever people. BTW: We nearly put Maggie Thatcher in, as she famously only slept 4hrs per week. Then we remembered she wasn't a genius and just a puppet of the dark forces of capitalism. http://games.usvsth3m.com/which-genius-do-you-slee... * WHICH IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE BAR? Fight! is going strong with some amazing user submitted lists including important confectionary based work like this: http://games.usvsth3m.com/fight/which-is-the-best-... ------------------------------------------------- : SITES IN BRIEF Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates * AMAZING HARDCORE MOUSE - reminds us of Jean-Claude Van Damme. http://imgur.com/9ZNLN6l * THE LOST ART OF THE CUTAWAY ILLUSTRATION - we don't see these much anymore. For shame. http://www.messynessychic.com/2013/10/15/the-lost-... * THE MOOD ALTERING EXPERIMENTS OF FACEBOOK - reminds us of this from John Higgs about the Daily Mail: http://jmrhiggs.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/the-daily-m... ------------------------------------------------- : GOOGLE CHROMEBOOKS Our opinion? Buy one This newsletter was written using Google Docs on a £179 Google Chromebook. We bought it on a whim and it's quickly become our favourite laptop. Dirt cheap and utterly great. Turns out that for 90% of our work a browser is all we need - checking Twitter, writing email, writing docs, the normal stuff. Amazing battery life too - genuninely 6 to 8 hours, unlike our Macbook Air which can do about 90 minutes before dying on its arse. Model we grabbed is an Acer - lovely little thing. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/asin/B00GX9HSK... ------------------------------------------------- : FUNNY NAME CORNER It's back! If you were targeting kids for a dental work company would you really call it EZ Pedo? https://www.ezpedo.com/index.html ------------------------------------------------- : VIDEO SCHMIDEO Like MP3s but with moving images * FUN WITH BLACK BULBS - occasional B3ta contributor Lee Hardcastle fiddles around with UV. http://www.b3ta.com/links/Fun_With_Black_Bulbs * THE COOLEST KID YOU'LL EVER SEE - two little kids having a scrap, but one has a fantastic special move. http://www.youtube.com/watch * REVVING A CAR ENGINE - wait for it! http://www.b3ta.com/links/Revving_a_car_engine_wai... * CLEVER EGG THING - We're not easily impressed, but we think if we had one of these our lives would be complete. http://www.b3ta.com/links/Eierschalensollbruchstel... ------------------------------------------------- : B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE Results from 'The Bigger Picture' Last week we asked you to expand familiar artwork beyond its frame and show us what the original artist cropped out.
