Schmitz Canimaan Software has issued [1]ClamXav 2.9 with a number of new features and improvements to the virus scanner. The update significantly improves on its ability to remove installed system infections and brings a new engine install/uninstall mechanism, which now retains any user-defined local/private mirrors and proxy settings. The release also improves disk image scanning, adds a color-coded infection list that helps identify the severity of an infection, enables you to cancel a definitions update in progress, fixes a bug that prevented the Dock icon progress bar from displaying properly, and improves ClamXav Sentry when running under multiple users. Because of the numerous changes to ClamXav 2.9, the trial period has been reset, enabling those with expired trials to install it again and use ClamXav for 30 days.
