As a kid I loved to play games on my spectrum, and now I'm
trying to figure out what my top 10 favorite games was, I think
       this it is:

It was quite difficult to figure out because of so many good
games and there are definitely so many games that I've forgotten
all about, but what is your favorite top 10 games of all time?

spy hunter, renegade! :) just yes... Does spy hunter actually
ends somewhere? I remember I played it a lot and got really far,
but do not remember any ending.

Not a proper ending no, just loops back to the start of the
game. I went through a time where Spy Hunter was the only game I
would play on my Spectrum and got quite addicted to this game.

I love this, I have only recently (last year or two) started
playing old spectrum games again and so my old and addled brain
has forgetten most of the titles that sat in my best shoe box of
cassettes, but everyone of these list spark my memory and
produces a RAM dump of emotions.
The ones I've always remembered and held dear are Skool Daze,
Elite, Underworld, Saboteur, Tir Na Nog, Jet Set Willy,
Pyjamarama, Manic Miner, Daley Thompsons Decathalon and the
Hobbit. But had forgotten until now, Sabre Wulf, Atic Atac (how
could I forget that!), Jetpac and Psst.
Off to WoS to get the tzx now :)
       Thanks
       Jools

Wow, what a difficult question is this and the longer I think
about it the harder it gets. There were so many great and
creative games released in the 80's on these little memory and
low resolution computers. I mean, it was the beginning of
computer game development and there was no reference for them.
If you then create a game like Tir Na Nog, Ant Attack or Skool
Daze, I mean how much respect should I have and how should I
choose the best out of them? If you compare this with the tons
of today shooters, all based on 3d engines where you just have
to run through levels shooting enemies. OK, the games nowadays
are looking brilliant, but what about the creativity? Lets's try
anyway and as you can see I've played games until about 1987-88.
       Tir Na Nog. ;D
First mind-blowing animation of a computer character.
The background scene moves while the character stays in the
       middle of the screen.
       Skool Daze.
One of the best half-screen game I know.
       Knight Lore
One of the First "forced-perspective isometric viewpoint" game I
       saw using "masked sprites"
       Ant Attack
Was the first true isometric 3D game (according to Sandy White
       himself..)
The creativity drips off this game.
       TLL : Tornado Low Level
Watch the shadow of the airplane moving over the ground..
       The Hobbit.
Text adventure with the most advanced text-parser for the time.
I was already a Tolkien fan at that time, so I've spent hours
       trying to complete the game.
       Wild West Hero.
A game that stayed under the radar. (did you played it??)
Looks like a simple game but it has a great game-play.
The sound of the enemies, the "shouting" sound between the
levels and the speed of the game is great.
A real arcade feeling on the ZX-Spectrum. This will be the first
game I will play on the Vega+
       Fairlight
Took the sound and graphics on the ZX-Spectrum to a higher
       level.
       Starion.
Nice 3D objects flying though space. Never knew what the goal of
the games was but that didn't matter.
       Mugsy.
Beautiful cartoon looking adventure, great atmosphere and
       stunning animations between the levels.
