ZX clones available in the Americas

Hello Folks,
As most of ZX fans know there were a number of both authorized
an unathorized clones of Sinclair computers. Timex produced
their own versions of the ZX81 and the Spectrum both in the US
and in Portugal. Also, companies in Brasil and Argentina (
Microdigital and Czerweny respectively ) came up with versions
of both the ZX81 and the Speccy.
I have seen articles related to the Eastern European clones but
I've never actually seen one in person but given the fact that
the electronics in the Sinclair computers was simple and pretty
straight forward I am not surprised that many different models
were created, most of them trying to get an edge adding features
not originally included in the Sinclairs.
Since I have had the pleasure of dealing with European clones
I'll concentrate in describing the versions available in The
Americas as I have dealt with most of them.
It's been 30+ years since I used and enjoyed those computers so
please feel free to correct me if I make mistakes or I fail to
comment critical aspects of the devices.
Thank you,
Javier Duenas

I forgot to add...
Since I moved to my new home, my old hardware has been boxed (
and I have 50+ boxes of old stuff, mostly not labeled :) ) and
my leisure time is kind of limited I'll be posting images taken
from the Internet instead of using my own.

Big PS!
As most of you are aware, there a literally LOTS of Internet
sites dedicated to ZX and its clones, I can certainly not match
what some folks have done in their sites, there is SO much
detailed information that is almost overwhelming so I'll not try
to go that, utterly, unnecessary way but just give an
introduction and brief description of the various models of ZX
computers available at the time.
There are tons of articles, schematics, etc. in languages other
than English, I'll gladly translate for the folks here at this
forum if you find a piece of info you might to know more. There
is plenty of literature in Portuguese, Italian and Spanish so
please feel free to ask :)
Cheers,
Jav
