       New members/introduce yourself

Hi all I'm Spec-chum(a.k.a Your Spec-chum on WoS), big fanatic
of Sir Clive's baby, the ZX Spectrum and all stuff to do with
it. It was my first step into computing in the late 1980's
thanks to a 128k +2A machine. I've just joined here to help
boost my daily fix of Spectrum related news, information, and to
be nosey into fellow spec-chum's, Spectrum affairs. I've given
this forum a heads up on WoS too.
Thought maybe the forum would might benefit with a new members
welcome/introduce yourself category. Understand the forums in
early stage and hope all the best for it! ;D

Hi Spec-chum Its really great having you visit this cobbled
together page thats undergoing a LOT of improvements LOL! I feel
like some movie star stalker having someone such as you here,
with all the knowledge you've got.
So, It should only be right that I should at least start the
ball rolling now after you. So the lttle about myself is that I
was first interested in the Speccy in 1982, when my brother
saved up his paper round and boutgh the 48K, a while later
finding I'd robbed it when he moved onto girls (I was 12, give
me a break). Before he let me have it I read a copy of Crash
magazine that showed Lords of Midnight, and I was hooked! I
saved up money to buy the Midnight box, and mustve read the
included story a 100 times before i could actuall play it. Now
I'm still as much a fan of the Spectrum, loving all the Imagine
games, and Hewson games when they did a lot of adventures, and
US Gold, including Dambusters. I've played remakes of the all,
but theres nothing like the sound of the game, and the loading
       screens of the originals :)

I got my spectrum back than at Christmas around 1989, I am not
sure for 100% about year... but I am pretty sure, because of
that decision that my parents made to buy it to me, I am who am
I and I have my career done where I have because of that
decision. What can I say more, it had significant, very positive
       influence.

All my knowledge to the ZX Spectrum started around '85 with my
       brother that bought a Spectrum+. A year later, I bought a C64
which I absolutely loved, but somehow I was more into the simple
graphic that Spectrum created, so I spent many hours in front of
my brother's computer instead of my c64.
Some years later, my brother wanted to sell his computer so I
bought it from him. Since then I've been hooked. (Still have it
       today)

       Hello there,
My name is Javier Duenas. I bought my first Sinclair computer
back in 1981/2 when I was at a technical high school starting my
learnings in the field of electronics. The TS1000 was followed
by a TS2068 in 1983/4. Both computers helped me a lot to
understand the nature of digital electronics, at the time I was
happy just learning how to repair electronics equipment, but the
Sinclair computers were so influencial to me that I convince
myself to pursue a higher education in the field to become an
Electronics Engineer. I still own the computers: TS1000, TS1500,
TS2068, Spectrum+ and some betraying models such as a CBM64 and
       an Atari 1040ST :)
The simplicity of the circuitry allowed me to develop my own
expansion hardware such as EPROM programmers, disk drives, motor
controllers and even some automation interfaces to control
knitting machines. The possibilities were endless with the
       Sinclairs.
As technology advanced the Sinclairs had to be replaced by more
powerful hardware but curiously, the teachings learnt from the
ZXs was so profound that I still use some of the old tricks
while I have to design new hardware. Sadly, I do not use
Sinclairs anymore in my hardware designs but I still test some
       ideas in Speccy emulators.
Altough I did play some games such as the Ultimate series, some
Dinamic titles as well (Rock'n'Roller, Humphrey, Abu Simbel) my
       favorite game was Gens :)
       Cheers,

[member=10]tm[/member] - when I was at school there was almost a
gang mentality regarding the Zx Spectrum & The Commodore 64, you
were in one or the other but could't be in both (that meant you
were a spy). Have to admit that I did own a Commodore Vic20 :-[
the keyboard feel, and the coding were brilliant for me at that
time, I did enjoy it but always came back to the Speccy
