Vega controls - dpad

This one is a secret, yet. I just wish it will work correctly.
What a huge disspointment 1st Vega was. You can not play
seriously any game. That d-pad used, if you pressed dpad down,
it also pressed randomly dpad right or left. Quick action games
were unplayable. Only if you were very carefull and press dpad
buttoms very carefully you were able to press what you want. In
quick games, it was just usefull. So, it was a big
dissapointment also from other point of view /AV looks bad on
big screens with a lot sound interferences etc/. Hoping at
least that dpad is better and it will be playabla much more with
Vega+. Hoping testing will pass this. For lacking any more
modern TV output /I am fine with anything better than AV, even
scart, or rgb will be completely fine/. So here my hopes for
Vega+ are only as a GO device. I will not programm on it due to
AV output, as I really does not want to hurt my eyes. But ok, we
will have spectrum next with more modern outputs, so for
keyboard games and writing some codes, next is a must for me. On
occasional playing limited number of games = Vega+ What are
your thoughts?

Hi Peeto, I have had a number of complaints rgasrding a number
of posts today. I have created a forums rules post in order to
try and explain. This forum is for like minded Speccy
enthusiasts, it isnt a political forum. Any person who
Administrates or moderates a forum is responsible for the
content. Some comments have been found to be contentious, and I
do not particularly wish to be involved in any slanderous
actions. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or
I can clarify further. This is a group of Speccy groupies, I
hope it will continue to be just that.

Hello there :)
I agree with Milinks. Personally, I do not wish to see complains
in here, if folks wish to complain about RC they should do it in
the official Indiegogo forum. Please note that I am not
defending them or anything but I prefer to see friendly
discussions related to the Sinclair computers rather than
endless postings unrelated to this group of passionate ZX
lovers.
Cheers,

IMHO the d-pad looks great (I just hope the "clicks" are
countable instead of some soft "how-many-times-did-I-click"
feeling).
Having separate buttons should normally improve the
responsiveness a lot.
Most modern controllers are just awful for speccy games.
Playing them on a Pi with Retropie/EmulationStation, I usually
prefer an old school MAME joystick (mainly because all new
d-pads are horrible).
As for the video output, It depends on your game.
Some of the color hacks look terrible with modern stuff.
While I adore 8bit coding, I mostly do this in VMs an run it on
original hardware.
I might consider the next if it's also useful for systems like
Fuzix (because having an 8 bit UNIX-like bash/shell is plain
cool).

jens - I use xbox pc controller for PI+ZX games combo, d-pad is
really good one and it plays well. But some games needs and
plays much better on joystick and here are real problems. You
need to find old functional one, which is a real pain to buy or
you can try new joysticks, but these are unplayable. We need new
joystick which will suit ZX games.
