Apparent sick Wedge ...

Hi Mark
Sorry to hear about your woes with the 280i fella... As we have
discussed and been said elsewhere, I would just keep an eye on
the performance characteristics of the car that only you know,
and watch the levels and use the car as you have been without
over stressing the motor. You can then look carefully at all
your options both in terms of the finances available and what
needs to be done pre blower installation. If it was me I would
go for a good salvaged engine with known good heads and
performance at a resonable price and then go for the blower and
tuning afterwards. You then have a useable/ reliable car that
you need which will give you confidence in using it which you
can then sort out the other core issue like the apparent fuel
leak etc then finance permitting, go on to the performance
upgrades that you want to do in your own time.
Gets off white horse, gets his coat and leaves quietly!!!!

Hi Chris...
I think my engine is fine, It was very healthy when clive at
tickover removed the heads..The pics i put up on the forum look
like there is pitting but it was just carbon, I may steam clean
the engine internally...It sounds weird but it can be done, I
actually saw a block at the ford garage that had a severe water
leak and the pistons, Valves and bores looked like new but the
engine was shagged...The internal steam cleaning works very well
but people are a bit sceptical about it as you can imagine..I
have secured the race prepped engine with John Toovey so i might
just bolt the supercharger to mine anyway and if it goes bang
then i have a brand new purpose built engine which is cheaper
than having mine rebuilt or another...Fingers
crossed...Cheers...Mark ;D

Well as i said i would use the car and not stress it until your
ready to decide on the best approach pre blower you do not want
to do all that work and then find your motor lets it down with
the associated extra costs involved.
Glad the car is usuable just need the bloody summer now or did
we miss it again!
