Delilah might have to go...

Hi Peeps..Well after the 400 mile round trip to yorkshire
delilah is not too well..Every valve had recessed but one in
particular had recessed a hell of a lot more..So much in fact
that it took 1.5 turns of adjustment.. :o..Which could point at
a worn cam..Now the dilema is do i go for a V8 or continue on
and get delilah rebuilt and supercharged?...If the inheritance
had come in already it wouldnt be an issue..Id have
both...Cheers..Ziga

Thats a real bummer Mark, I've not a clue where you are £ wise
with poor old Delilah........
but time to move the old girl on I reckon, go and find a decent
V8

Hi Mate..Its a bit of a dilema really...Im waithing on some
inheritance and to be honest i would keep delilah and have a V8
as well..I have bought a supercharger kit that bolts straight on
to my 2.8 and i was going to have my engine upgraded anyway so
nothing has really changed i suppose...At the moment she is
still pulling like a train and drives ok, I have been thinking
about the V8 that belongs to chris who you met at the caterham
meet..Its a well sorted big valve V8 and goes like the clappers
and chris has done a lot of work on her...If the money was to
come in tomorrow i would snap up the V8 and garage mine to have
the engine out and rebuilt for the supercharger, When done it
should be pushing out well over 300bhp..Then all i would need
would be a dice with V8....Or SX280i...on
it..Simples...Cheers...Ziga

V8 V8 V8 V8 V8 V8 V8 V8 V8 , who am i kidding mines been a real
pain in ass for three years and now i find i'm having to have it
rebuilt again, what i'm trying to say mate is try and weigh
every thing up and consider all options open to you...
Ultimately it's a V8 that you would like so maybe you already
know the answer to your question, i know its really hard your
heart says one thing and yer head says another but maybe it's
time to put all your efforts in to finding a V8 and you know the
s102 will fit a V8 !! Good luck mate and make the first road
you go down the right road! Take this from someone who knows ;)

Thing is Phil when i went to Fernhurst i sat in a Tuscan S and
fell in love with it even more so when Drew started it up in the
show room :o BUT then i spyed the 400SX out side and remembered
when way back in the day i owned a 350i .... I guess nostalgia
took over and before i woke up i'd bought the SX, don't get me
wrong i may talk as though i hate the old girl but she has
really got under my skin , the whine of the supercharger and the
roar of the V8 well it gets very addictive ;D I like to tell
myself that i'll never sell her but you never know!! I know how
Mark feel if we could have the best of both worlds.... Chin up
Mark it'll all come right in the end mate....

Life is cruel!!!......I tell you what though after going down
the runway at 150mph in a tuscan at the BNG..(Not me driving
unfortunately).. i would probably blow it all on one and just
sit and look at it cos i wouldnt be able to run it!... ;D
Just to add to the dilema...V8 developments sell the blower
plenum and the throttle pot housing for the V8 fitment of the
Sprintex S102..... :)

Hi Peeps..I might of found a low mileage V6 cologne engine to
put in mine until i can sort my rebuild out..That way i can
still drive delilah and have a race prepared engine built and
then sell the low mileage engine later on..Maybe the future is
whiney... ;)
