That LT77 box and a question for Chris
By: PhilanFi Date: September 2, 2012, 8:59 am

Well I've bust the Wedge again.
Went out for a run this morning with a few folk and had trouble
with the box.The damn thing is stuck in 2nd and now stuck on the
drive.
Home via a transporter from Winchester, I hope the spots PH
stylee don't pop up.
Anyway pulled the gear stick out and the linkage in the remote
has broken, Chris is it possible to remove the remote gear
change assembly
with the box in situ and more importantly is it repairable?
As they say TIA.....
Phil

to the BNG?....Chris should be along to answer the
question...This forum is not as busy as PH yet but once its in
full swing it should be a bit more responsive..Hopefully speak

Hi Phil
Not a good day then fella! Depending on what is broke it may be
possible to replace in situ, post up a few piccies so we can see
the size of the problem. You can replace the whole remote
assembly by patially moving the engine and gearbox to give room
to work but you need the car up high enough to do it. Anyway
lets see the size of the problem with some pics if you can
Chris

Thanks for getting back Chris. I don't think posting up pics
will help much, with the gear stick removed one
can see the thing that it sits in has come away from whatever
the said thing is supposed to be linked to futher inside the
remote.
Theres no sign of a breakage on the linky thing so I guess I
best get in there pull the assembly of the box, what a bloody
pain.
At least with any luck its not a gearbox out job....going to
call the people who rebuilt the box now.
Update
There is some good news...the gearbox chaps tell me they will
replace the innards of the remote while I wait..not sure how
long the weight is...................................... but hey
ho the olduns are the best ones ......not

Well we pulled the remote of the box this afternoon, twas a tad
fiddly, but it came away with all the other stuff in situ, no
jacking up the engine or dropping the box etc
Update to follow.

Tis fixed at last...I found some time over the w/e and its now
ready for a hoon/blat
Martin have you got your car back yet?
The mornings are not so good anymore the sun is becoming lazy,
though it keeps the Sunday drivers in bed a tad longer, Martin
are you capable of hauling arse early on a Sunday morn? if so I
may just have a run in mind that you would enjoy!!!
I'll get in contact with a few likely suspects and see if we can
get it organised.

Hi Phil , i wish i did have the SX back it seems a growing
trend that companies are all to willing to take on the work that
you give them but when it comes to actually doing it in the
quoted time it then doubles, it pisses me off big time
especially when you have to chase them to see how things are
going >:( as soon as i have it back with me i'll let you
know....Have a great run out !!!
