Re: Fix win by CPU performance

I think SC2 uses 2 cores, not more than that. So having hardware
that is "high end" with like 12+ cores... is actually
meaningless since SC2 will only use 2 of those anyways. I don't
know a whole lot about this type of stuff, but I learned this in
all the years I played SC2 :D

that is true but if these 2 cores have high clocks and high ipc
due to new architecture you get improvements.
For my system to drop into single digit fps it needs thousands
of units.
For test you can go into replay mode. if you drop there you
cannot blame other players or network or whatnot.

Say what you will here's my story: I used an old FX6350 and got
horrible lags once somebody researched shattering laser. Once I
upgraded to a newer ryzen 3 5600 all of my issues went away. And
I stream while playing.
So yes it is definitely a cpu issue on your side and a new one
will help.

Well, "meaningless" is too strong of a term I guess, what I
meant is having 12 cores for a game that will only use 2 cores
is essentially wasting 10 cores^^

you only "waste" 2 cores here and still have 2 cores for the
game with very good clocks and ipc. for 150. say goodbye lags
and hello ultra graphics (assuming you have a decent gpu) :)

Yes, ryzen anything will probably solve the issues. comparable
intel cpus aswell. I think intel was always decent at
singlethreading the new thing is that amd can do that too. So
yeah if you have some money left after this shitty year I
suggest upgrading your potatoes. Nothing much that can be done
on the game side.
