Game design too flawed
By: Speed Date: December 9, 2020, 7:59 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
In order for not so good players keeping the game winnable, a
full lobby of average terrans will always win. No amount of
balancing will ever properly fix this. Lost a game, all 3
terrans poked me (not super aggressive though, but they were
there). Kept everything together, bruts at 25min, no big spines
lost (and even I need a bit of luck to pull that off). Terrans
won effortlessly with ion. I didn't check replay, but I bet my
salty ass that none of them had good macro, they all just had
"good enough" macro.
I'm officially bored of this stuff, people whine at me T2 is
unwinnable and roach is trash and ion is impossible, and I lose
to roach and ion, ironic. Of course I will keep playing I guess,
for some reasons I just can't stop playing a game that
fascinated me once, but zerg is too much of an uphill battle; I
always knew and accepted you are at a disadvantage, but
brutalisks being as useless as they are is just sad. I guess I
will play the cheap way, snowball roach + infused roach, even
though it goes against the nature of the game as I understand
it.
I don't think the game can really be fixed, even if Wmaster 100%
listened to heXnabs (which he never did, despite some people
claiming that), the game is simply beyond flawed with some nice
mechanics on some aspects, but "getting good" being rewarded
with "you get all spawners with capacity" early game is just one
of many turn offs.
Oh yeah, and zerg is auto-lose if there is no noob terrans you
can abuse. And no, none of the ideas proposed by anyone on this
forum would change that lol. I countered everything terrans
threw at me for 25 minutes, only to get ioned out of the game,
something that is sadly not possibly counterable.
And yes, the game still is in a better spot than last patch, as
sad as it is. Can't believe I had a clean 24/0 record of zerg at
some point... guess bad players don't pick zerg sometimes so I
always played zerg in trash lobbies - lucky me.
tl;dr: Zerg is too slow to compete with even semi-decent
terrans, gets outscaled and loses without much of a counter
(other than trying to snowball down terrans in the midgame)

I appreciate you coming around but you were arguing very
strongly that zerg was in a great state in the other thread,
what changed your perspective?

It is in a better state. The question you are asking is answered
in the original post.

Eh, just 1 game^^ All the terrans were mediocre, still can't win
x) (because 6 mediocre terrans is far above standard lobby btw)
Roach is the way - cheap fast win if it works and you know you
can leave if you cannot kill enough terrans at some point. Nice
~25minute games I guess.

If the Terrans are mediocre they should still be pretty killable
though? Brutas should be able to break at least a few of them,
or a strong roach timing should at least kill off two or three
while still hitting a 25/26 minute bruta timing to mop up the
rest
