Alright my 2cts here. I too have struggled quite a bit with zerg
at the start of the patch. I'm not gonna bs anyone that you can
win against 6 competent terrans that are coordinating. That is
actually the 100% win rate play that terrans can do. So no you
won't hold against that. If there are is 1 terran per side that
is not pushing aggressively past the first nest you do however
have a pretty good chance of pulling through (given that you
have a good teammate and are coordinating)
We recently discovered that an infused rush is quite powerful.
Get 6 infestors each at 8 mins and try to feed them off walls.
Then at 2k eco you rush armor 3 and try to get that by 17mins.
Depending on how well your feeding goes you'll have 4 infused
roaches by 18-19mins. Get 3attack ups one or two speed ups and
you can pretty reliably push any terran back up his ramp if not
outright kill them. In the meantime you get primal roaches to
hold off pushes as long as you can. Once the inf roaches are out
and you start killing terrans get a single roach spawner for the
upgrades. You'll only have 2-3k eco at 20mins (depending on how
many spawners you've lost) but that is enough to get all the
upgrades. After you've killed most of the terrans and the
remaining ones turtled in you can eco up some more and get
whatever you need to break the turtles.
I'll upload a video or three of that in the next view days on my
YT channel so that you can see for yourself. But so far it seems
the most reliable way to win if you have a teammate that is
capable of a high level of communication and teamplay.
(voice chat strongly recommended but actually not necessary Adam
and Smith managed to pull that off without voice (credit goes to
them for field testing it after we theorised it in discord)

This is my build:

It doesn't work in this patch because any good terran will have
vets out by the time you have enough infused to do any damage,
and vets slaughter infused roaches.

if you have 4 or more (we had 7 last game) of them running into
a group of vets they have a hard time holding even with all the
op stuff such as bubble and overcharge. We actually beat adam
with that :P. (to his defence only one other on his sie was
pushing actively, the third one turret rushed me????). Terrans
need to coordinate if they still want to win as in if you charge
one of them with the infused the other ones needs to do damage.
If they fail to do so you can just pick them off one by one. The
infused aura stacks and scales with attacks + the spawned
roaches. It's much better than any sort of bruta rush (brutas
die before they finish there attack animation and actually only
provide a quarter of the income for pretty much the same cost.
It does require coordination: one micros the attack force the
other one defends spines with infestors. If not more than one
terran attack at the same time it's a relatively easy win. You
only need to live till 18 or so minutes without losing too many
big spines. Build a supply of spawners on the strongest terrans
and full eco from there. Works a charm. And the fact that they
just eat lvl 0 walls which most terrans have at that point is an
added bonus.

but yeah another good mid game option to bridge the gap between
strikelings and primals would be nice. Just throwing it out
there. I still think zerg is in a worse spot than before the
patch. As soon as any zerg builds roaches I know the game is
over :/

Funny, I lost to roach + primal (but obviously roach 1st), and
it was the only terran game I truly lost in this patch.
Yeah, 4/6 terrans were useless, but still x)

This description of the timing is not correct. You might be
able to build an infused roach spawner around the 18 minute
mark, but there is no way to get 4 actual infused roaches out by
18 minutes unless you get Armor 1 by 4 minutes and share income.
With the timing as you've described it, you won't have 4 infused
roaches out until the 24 minute mark.

something something feed the infestors... I'd imagine the
average lobby has more than just 1 terran that will be very
harvestable at 8/9 minutes.

ZergTriumph, if you share money with your mate you can have
primals around 15 so it should be possible to have 4 infused
around 18 i suppose if you manage your infestors well.
However, for sure i think that Zerg is a little weak. We should
think about stuff to do to give them more defensive option early
game. NO OFFENSIVE OPTIONS :)
As said previously by some players, Zergs need stuff to micro to
express skill. I would like to see some defensive new stuff with
micro application replacing useless units like beastlings or
tanklings :)
The cloud is one of the tools 2ergs can use to win time. We need
more of stuff like this maybe ?

Just lost the closest game ever. Last terran died as final ion
was shot. So close lol
Mineral converter is a great tool to get some wall ups, though
since it has to burn money to create money, it will be hard to
stack 20+ walls, which in my opinion is a good thing. The +2
armor per upgrade also makes walls extremely durable to low dmg
units like roaches and the units below them tech wise, and
converters are online much earlier than chem, so you get into
the position of using only your walls & repair to defend much
earlier, allowing for some damn fast ions to put the pressure on
zerg. Of course it needs a team, but solo marine pushing is
usually not ending in a win either.

Yes, it can be done, but not the way MetGaming described it.

You know, I have had a decent amount of disagreements with Mett,
but if he says he made a build work that was discussed with
several people beforehand, then I'm pretty sure the build works
the way he described it. x)
