character's appearance. Be free to post an image or artwork
resembling your character appearance along with an accompanying
written description of your character. Should they character's
appearance change throughout the events of this story be sure to

Tanuki Hiwa is short and plump, with a cute round face framed
with shorter hair and long black hair behind. Her eyes are light
brown. She is dressed in as fine a kimono as a Tanuki could
manage, which is barely above that of a peasant. It is looking
particularly worn and a little dirty, given that she has lost
her home and all her things when she fled, yet another refugee
of the city's fighting. She Always has a gourd or two hanging
from her obi.

Akira the Ronin is a younger looking man with norther features.
His black hair is usually done up and frames his eyes well
enough. Typically he wears a fairly simple but sturdy looking
kimono

Komori Ikari is a young Bat clan shugenja. She stands at around
4'5 feet and is usually found wearing either black robes with
the mons of the Bat clan and Komori family or a black kimono
with the same mons and silver needlework in the design of bamboo
leaves. At her side is her scroll satchel and in her obi is a
wakizashi, though she doesn't look like she knows how to use it.
She carries no other weapons than that unless she's going into
battle, in which case she's got her bow. Her hair goes down to
her hips and is a silken black color. Her eyes are dark brown
with flecks of sky blue.

Yuko is a young woman, with slightly tan skin (this makes her
not-pretty in Rokugani culture), thick black hair that is
usually separated in twin-tails and dark hazel eyes. She stands
at 160cm, give or take (5' 2"), and weighs about 50 kg (110lbs).
Her usual getup is a dark long-sleeved shirt that is tightly
bound to her waist with a red obi, while her legs are covered by
some shorts that are also very poofy, like the shirt: they taper
off to her knees, to which they cling. Sometimes, she has a
scimitar on her left hip, indicating that she is right-handed.
Should her right arm be naked and visible, people would be able
to see a tattoo of what once was a canary...
"The Canary on your arm has been changed, covered up and altered
to the point where nobody would ever recognize it for what it
is. The yellow has been changed, with reds and oranges added to
turn it into a rising sun across the horizon. The scar across
your arm is used as a branch upon which a group of crows sit,
watching the sun. Even more take off into the air above them,
with the colors of the sunset expanding across your upper arm as
the backdrop. One of the birds flying among the group almost
looks like a hummingbird upon closer inspection. Under the
branch the sun reflects across the water of a lake, although the
colors make it look more like a setting sun. You can see
individual ripples in the waves with hints of fish below the
surface. One of the ravens is carrying a fish that looks like a
carp up to the branches above. One of the waves catching the
light almost looks like it's reflecting fire itself. There is
also a lone maple leaf floating in the waves." (48 on Tattooing,

Akihiro is heavily tanned and lean. There's nothing soft or
refined or even elegant about him. His entire body is covered in
a welter of scars, some old and others more recent. Both arms
are covered in a tattoo of swirling smoke, with oni masks and
skulls hidden amongst the smoke. If one bothered to count the
masks and skulls, they would discover that there is 134 of them
hidden across both arms. His hair is kept in a closely cropped
topknot, the sides of his head shaved, so that it looks more
like a mohawk than a topknot. He has a typical Mantis style
goatee and moustache.
He typically wears a storm grey, unadorned sleeveless kimono
that shows off his arms. His daisho has mismatched tsuba. The
katana's bears a Kitsu mon while the wakizashi's a Kasuga mon.
If anyone can find a picture that even goes someway to
representing this, let me know!

Impeccably bald and round-faced, and with tiny whiskers
sprouting from underneath his bulbous nose, Ekei is as
unappealing as most Tortoise get. Yet his rolly-poly, lubberly
looks belie a crafty intellect. So too do his nimble, meaty
hands once they are put to work mimicking daimyo seals, port
documents, and even faux jewelry. A tanned
With no one to impress or any desire to do so, Ekei favors the
looseness of his weathered yellow kimono, sleeves rolled up to
the shoulders. A paunch, arduously achieved from years of hard
drinking and gluttony, hangs out from his shirt. His wide girth
is kept in place by a thick braid of hemp. Below are maroon
spotted trousers, and worn-out leg wraps.
