This was my first Hatha yoga class and I found it interesting. I
noticed I never felt in the flow state like I do when I take
vinyasa classes. This class was slow paced and held poses
longer. After taking this classI realized how helpful cues are
in teaching and can really help a student get the right set up
for the pose. It was nice to try a different type of yoga and
compare it to all that we have learned about vinyasa.

I thought this was a good video and was appropriately titled
Hatha Yoga for Beginners. The instructor broke down each pose to
be easily understood. The instructor also provided a lot of cues
and different options for each pose, while reminding everyone to
breathe. Then informing everyone what muscle or area that they
should be feeling the stretch.
I would have enjoyed this as one of my first classes, as there
was a lot of instruction broken down into very basic steps. I
did find hearing all of the cues that were provided was helpful
for additional options to potentially add in.

Lots of great/varying content, I enjoyed watching some of the
videos everyone else posted. And now after watching and
reflecting about it, I think I have actually taken some
primarily Hatha Classes at other local studios and not realized
it. (Typically branded Slow Flow or Gentle Flow, but not a Yin
or restorative class by any means) and despite the word flow
being used there is definitely less connection and fluidity
between movements vs. how we use poses to seamless transition in
and out of the next. Now understanding how the set
up/cueing/breathe and holding works, it is easy to discern the
difference between Hatha and The Vinyasa Hatha hybrid that we
use at Collective. I did enjoy this class, however admittedly
with this style of yoga, I find that my mind is in a much less
meditative state, and it wanders during moments of “lag”. Maybe
this is because it is not the style I routinely practice, but if
it was/when I do practice Hatha style I will pay closer
attention to when my mind wanders and try and redirect my focus
to the present moment and my practice.
I did a lot of scrolling and comment reading as well but the
video I landed on:
