Every time you take a class under a different teacher, reply
with who, when, where, style and summarize what you liked and
didn't like about it. Some things to think about:
[li]Integration[/li]
[li]Tempo[/li]
[li]Music[/li]
[li]Atmosphere[/li]
[li]Noticing any cueing[/li]
[li]Anything you didn't jive with[/li]
[li]etc.[/li]
The atmosphere of this YIN class was a dark room, Incense lit,
calm voice. She asked us to be against the wall for our 4
minute holds. We had bolsters and blankets. Once we got into
the stretch we were to hold she asked us to get as deep into the
stretch as we could until we felt our limit and then start
holding. as we were holding we were able to go even deeper into
the stretch. It was uncomfortable but rewarding. Then a slow
release when the bell chimed. It was a fantastic class. At the
end of class when we were in our resting pose she came around
and did a tight head wrap. It was incredible. the pressure from
the wrap created such a calm and meditative feeling. I will use
this in my practice. She also put an oil on our wrist at the
beginning of class. it was a refreshing oil. very light

I'm so glad you took the yin class and experienced a different
flavor of yoga and what it has to offer. Taking inventory of how
she guided the class, the little nuances of love such as the
head wrap and oils makes for a lovely experience. Did she ask
for permission to touch and if anyone was allergic to the scent?
If not, that is something to consider when you start to teach in
the future. We will go over this in ethics and class environment
lectures.
