       This World
By: Charm Date: December 21, 2012, 1:04 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of
God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
       1 John 2:15
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone
loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
       1 Timothy 6:7
For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take
       anything out of it either.
       John 14:30
I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world
       is coming, and he has nothing in Me;
       John 7:7
The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of
it, that its deeds are evil.
       1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to
see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have
       gone out into the world.
       James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father
is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to
keep oneself unstained by the world.
       1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust
of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the
Father, but is from the world.
       1 Timothy 4:7
But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old
women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of
       godliness;
       1 John 4:5
They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world,
and the world listens to them.
       Jude 1:19
These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid
       of the Spirit.
       1 John 5:19
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the
       power of the evil one.
       1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the
victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
       Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all
men, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires
and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory
of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself
for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for
Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds
       James 4:4
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world
is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend
of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
       Colossians 2:8
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and
empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to
the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to
       Christ.
       Matthew 4:7-9
Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall
not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed
Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; 9 and he said
to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and
       worship me.”
       Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and
forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his
       soul?
       1 Corinthians 11:32
But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that
we will not be condemned along with the world.
       Matthew 13:37-39
And He said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these
are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the
evil one; 39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the
harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels.
       Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become
tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good
for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by
       men.
       Matthew 13:22
And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the
man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the
deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes
       unfruitful.
       Matthew 18:7
“Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is
inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man
through whom the stumbling block comes!
       John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have
peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I
       have overcome the world.”
       John 16:8-12
And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and
righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they do
not believe in Me; 10 and concerning righteousness, because I go
to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11 and concerning
judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear
       them now.
       John 15:19
If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but
because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the
world, because of this the world hates you.
       John 15:18
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it
       hated you.
       John 14:19
After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you
will see Me; because I live, you will live also.
       John 14:16-18
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper,
that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or
know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will
       be in you.
       John 12:46
I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who
believes in Me will not remain in darkness.
       John 8:23
       And He was saying to them, “You are from below, I am from above;
you are of this world, I am not of this world.
       John 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the
       world did not know Him.
       Luke 9:25
For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and
       loses or forfeits himself?
       1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did
not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the
foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
       Romans 11:15
For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what
will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
       John 17:16
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
       Ephesians 2:1-3
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you
formerly walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now
working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all
formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires
of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of
       wrath, even as the rest.
       2 Corinthians 7:10
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a
repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow
       of the world produces death.
       2 Corinthians 4:3-4
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are
perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the
minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of
the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
       1 Corinthians 3:18-20
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he
is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may
become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness
before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the
wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows the
reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.”
       Colossians 2:20-23
If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the
world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit
yourself to decrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste,
do not touch!” 22 (which all refer to things destined to perish
with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of
men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance
of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe
treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly
       indulgence.
       1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding
worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is
       falsely called “knowledge”—
       1 Timothy 6:17
Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be
conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but
on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
       1 John 3:13
Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
       1 John 3:1
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we
would be called children of God; and such we are. For this
reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
       1 John 2:17
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who
does the will of God lives forever.
       2 Peter 1:4
For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent
promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by
       lust.
       1 John 4:4
       You are from God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
       2 Peter 2:20
For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by
the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are
again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has
become worse for them than the first.
       1 John 4:2-4
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every
spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the
spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is
coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God,
little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He
who is in you than he who is in the world.
