Pharaoh's Birthday
Genesis 40:20-22
20 Thus it came about on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s
birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he
lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the
chief baker among his servants. 21 He restored the chief
cupbearer to his office, and he put the cup into Pharaoh’s hand;
22 but he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had interpreted
to them.
Herod's Birthday

Matthew 14:6-11
6 But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias
danced [d] before them and pleased Herod, 7 so much that he
promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Having
been prompted by her mother, she *said, “Give me here on a
platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 Although he was
grieved, the king commanded it to be given because of his oaths,
and because of his dinner guests. 10 He sent and had John
beheaded in the prison. 11 And his head was brought on a platter
and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
Everything in the Bible serves a purpose

2Timothy 3:16,17
16 All Scripture is [h] inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in
righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate,
equipped for every good work.
Blowing Out Candles
We place candles on a birthday cake and blow them out with a
wish. The very concept of the birthday celebration is as ancient
a superstition as any. The blowing out of the candles began with
the Greek tradition in honor of the birthday of Artemis, goddess
of the moon, marriage and childbirth. For this occasion special
cakes were baked in the shape of the moon and candles were
placed on altars within the temple. During the celebration the
candles were to be blown out with one breath, and Artemis would
then gaze favorably upon her worshippers. (Encyclopedia Of
American Folklore - Infobase Publishing, 2007 -Pg.40)
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son
or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination,
one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a
sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a
spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For whoever does
these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these
detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before
you.

Leviticus 19:26-31
26 ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor practice
divination or soothsaying. 27 You shall not round off the
side-growth of your heads nor harm the edges of your beard. 28
You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make
any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD. 29 ‘Do not
profane your daughter by making her a harlot, so that the land
will not fall to harlotry and the land become full of lewdness.
30 You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the
LORD. 31 ‘Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them
out to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6-8
6 “‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and
spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I
will cut them off from their people. 7 “‘Consecrate yourselves
and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. 8 Keep my decrees
and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

Acts 19:18,19
18 Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing
and disclosing their practices. 19 And many of those who
practiced magic brought their books together and began burning
them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of
them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

2Kings 21:6
6 He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft
and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He
did much evil in the sight of the LORD provoking Him to anger.
Do only what is acceptable to the LORD
1Corinthians 10:31
31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to
the glory of God.

John 8:31:32
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If
you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you
free.”

God draws in believers
John 6:44
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws
him; and I will raise him up on the last day

1Corinthians 3:6,7
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7
So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is
anything, but God who causes the growth.
Giving gifts under compulsion and not out of love
Acts 20:35
35 In everything I showed you that by working hard in this
manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord
Jesus, that He Himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to
receive."

Luke 6:38
38 Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your
lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running
over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you
in return.”

2Corinthians 9:7
7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not
grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Stop following men and start following Christ
Mark 7:7-9
7 ‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR
AWAY FROM ME. ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS
DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’ 8 Neglecting the commandment of
God, you hold to the tradition of men.” 9 He was also saying to
them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God
in order to keep your tradition.
