Iverson
By: iverson13 Date: September 16, 2013, 12:02 pm

DATE: 16/09/2013, 21:00
LEAGUE: Eurobasket
MATCH: Slovenia - Finland
PICK: Goran Dragic under 15.5
ODDS: 1.90
BOOKIES: Marathon
STAKE: 4/10
DATE: 16/09/2013, 21:00
LEAGUE: Eurobasket
MATCH: Slovenia - Finland
PICK: Koponen 13+ and Finland to win
ODDS: 9.00
BOOKIES: WillHill
STAKE: 1/10
Slovenia plays for nothing, no matter what they'll be on 2nd
place in group and play vs France in 1/4.
The same situation was before game vs Poland in the 1st round
and Slovenia lost, odds for Poland were around 6. Dragic played
then only 18 minutes and scored 9 points. Today I expect similar
situation. Few minutes, few shots, few points.
Today I expect Finland to win this game. Slovenia's reserves are
not very powerful and Finland can play basketball. They showed
it here. Of course, they're going home after this game, but they
have done something that nobody expected, so I bet they want to
leave this tournament with good accent. And if they want to win
this Koponen has to score around 15+ I think.

LEAGUE: Basketball, Friendlies
MATCH: Canik - Botas
PICK: Botas
ODDS: 1.55
BOOKIES: Bet365
STAKE: 4/10
Canik a lot of financial trouble last season, lot of players
were gone even before the end of the season. I don't exactly
know the situation right now, but I can see that girls don't
wanna risk, because squad much, much weaker than last season.
Top 6 or even 7 players are gone, now there are few no-names
from Turkey, only Horti and Evrin from abroad. Horti like many
Hungarian players is much weaker outside Hungary, she showed it
in Wisla. Ervin played decent basket in Trutnov, but she can't
create positions herself, same as Horti. And I can't see nice
passer in Canik.
Botas also lost 2 important girls, but their signings are much
better than Canik's. Vajda is the only Hungarian not losing her
skill outside of Hungary, Turner in Mersin was nice shooter and
Ygueravide for PG, combo guard, can score nicely, give 5 assists
per game, fight a bit on board and also has quick hands, so she
can steal some balls. Ok, she's not Spanish top, but for teams
like Botas she's just perfect.
For me Botas has really great chances to win this game.

LEAGUE: Basketball, Friendlies
MATCH: Istanbul Univ - Altay Konak
PICK: Altay +8.5
ODDS: 1.85
BOOKIES: Bet365
STAKE: 3/10
Altay is newcomer, from TKB2L, but really nice signings for me.
Andja Jelavic on PG, experienced player, played a lot in
Euroleague clubs, with Anjda from Samsun came her backup -
Aslan. From Ankara Canbaz and Murat, 2 nice bench players who
can give ~5 ppg and fight hard on board. From Tarsus came Askin,
good bench scorer, same as Erdogan from Mersin, 7-8 ppg probably
won't be to much for them. From Izmir, from TKB2L Atila - 19
ppg, 8 rpg, 4.7 apg, 3.4 spg - her stats from 2nd league. Ok,
another level, but this numbers prove that she can play basket.
Suer from Canik is another frontcourt player which should get
minutes in rotation and give some points and rebounds from
bench. Solopova and Christi Thomas are well known players, also
LaToya Thomas stayed in team, main option from last year. In my
opinion this is team for upper part of the table.
Istanbul kept many players, Mandir and Montanana are gone. Also
Carsson, Davenport and Hoffman are in WNBA now, but I think that
Shenise Johnson and Melissa Can will replace them in Istanbul.
But for now, none of them is in Turkey, so Istanbul have
Osipova, Palazoglu, Kartaltepe from last season and 6 nonames
from Turkey, some of them are new, some were in team last
season. They signed Marginean, Cohen and Demirok. I think that
with Americans it will be quite nice team, but without them
rotation is very short, about 5.5 decent players and only one
over 182 in this group. Ok, there are tall girls, but they
played last season about 3-5 minutes per game. For me this team
isn't built very good or they just want to play small ball all
the time. A lot of players on PG/SG and poor frontcourt. I
really cannot see blowout from Istanbul.
