In for the long haul...

What's up everybody. If you are reading this that says two
things. One, somebody told you to visit this site. Two, you are
interested enough to check this out. Here is what I'm prepared
to do. I'm going to make a gaming site that blows all this other
bullshit away completely. There is only one way to do that. To
have me and a few others I trust to build this up, as well as a
supporting community to give in their two cents on what they
would want in a gaming site. Money is not an issue here.
Remember that everybody has a voice, so please respect what they
say. But also if your idea is outrageous please be prepared to
laugh with us. Because I think the outrageous ones are always
more creative than the idealistic ones. Lets try to put them
both together and make this the most memorable gaming site ever
created.

#1 - Rating Recognition - There used to be a site called Mplayer
way back in the day (late 90's) that had a great way of
recognizing rating. As you moved up in rating your icon beside
your name would change. For example a 1300 rated nic would show
as a club, 1400 was a diamond and it would move up, heart,
spade, jack, queen, king and then an ace (2300 and up). This
format worked well as you can quickly identify players in your
own ratings without having to right click on their names but it
also was a way of showing off your achievements.
#2 - Adult/Family Lobbies - most sites these days restrict they
usage of what they deem vulgar language because they say they
are a family site. We should be able to have 2 different gaming
communities, one for adults and one for "families/children" if
a kid gets in and their parents don't like it then its up to the
parents to babysit their own kids not ours. I personally like
the idea of being able to tell someone to go fuck themselves
when they are worthy of the comment and am tired of being
treated like a bad kid by the hardwood guides.
#3 - Profiles - another site that I used to play at is Mystic
Island. While i hated that their rankings were reset every 3
months i liked how we could put a real picture of ourselves or
anything else that we wanted to in our profiles. Makes our nics
more personal and allows more of our personality to flow into
our id.
I have more ideas but will post them later

Those are all golden ideas angela. I agree and more than likely
will be applying those ideas. I like the profile like at Mystic
too. And having an icon to show achievement is cool. As far as
the lobby goes and saying whatever you want. This is the wild
west. But I'll make a room for the kids! We might have to call
the police though.

alright well. This is the deal. I'm being completely honest.
Money is an issue. Because building this site will take all of
it. More than likely. So in order for me to really build this,
since I no longer hustle, is to find me a legit hustle. Which I
am building currently. See, other gaming sites. They are hobbies
for those who created them, they are probably college graduates
and are made of money. I have too much money I'd have to invest,
and there will be probably be no return. When I said money is
not an issue, I guess I was predicting the day where making this
site and investing everything would not be an issue, as it would
just be a hobby. And hobbies have to wait, we all know this. In
for the long haul, this idea is never dead. I've wanted to do
this for a long time, and I will do it because I've always done
what I've wanted to do. Just for now, I have to put it to the
side because I'm working on more important things in my life.
I'll be starting my own business soon, and if things go as
planned it shouldn't take long to stack some serious money. But
then I have other things I'd be tending to that are way more
important than a gaming website. Don't give up hope on it,
because it will happen. Just not now.
