Since there was a pretty neat thing with the skin on the old
site.
And why is there a verification thing with Personal Messages?

Verification goes on until you have a certain number of posts, I
believe. xD
And yeah, Splashy's good at making skins so I'm sure she'll have
something nice for us soon enough. <3
