How do you use expanded genders?

I really hate having to see the gender I don't really agree with
pop up all the time. How do I change it?

go to your profile, look at the side bar of options, and go to
forum profile. it's towards the bottom, but it is there (:

I'm such a flop at this so please just change the sexuality
thing to gay and the gender thing to agender/gender neutral
options.
Also it isn't there and is starting to really freak me out.
