       * How can I resist you? (PRIVATE)

Change was in the air, Frostkit could feel it. With the coming
of the ThunderClan medicine cat and the demotion of her former
mentor, Copperburnt, she was sure WindClan was in for surprising
and fun new things. The blue and white daughter of Breakingstar
and Orion wasn't quite certain what her mother had in store for
them in the moons to come. Padding along the path she and her
sister Projectedkit had crafted after a few moons, the
half-blind and clawless medicine cat apprentice strolled around,
       searching for herbs.
She was only four moons, but she was determined to make a big
impact on the clan. Not like wipe everyone out and become
leader... but just be a good little medicine cat apprentice and
cooperate with everyone. So far she was not normal, not at all.
She saw visions from both StarClan and the Dark Forest, got
calls from her dad in the Cercis... it just so worked like that.
She had powers, visions, prophecies. Proj was left behind in the
process, so most of her mum's attention was devoted to her.
Pondering in these things, she stepped off the path and
proceeded to picking chamomile before turning back around and
hitting her head on a tree, which was not in her peripheral line
of vision. Grumbling as he hit the floor, chamomile flower still
tucked behind her ear, she rolled over and cried, blood pouring
down her face and past her little bambi eyes.

He wasn't a stalker, no, but it wasn't exactly right for him to
let his new, four moon old apprentice go out on her own. What if
she was snatched up like Frostedkit had been snatched up?
Rapidfire was very fond of the little kitten already, kind of
like an older brother figure he thought, and if anything
happened to her? Well, he'd be quite devastated. The newly
promoted WindClan medicine cat padded silently after her, icy
blue eyes gentle as he padded along with silent grace, eyes
fixated on her tail as she padded along, pretty far ahead of
him. If she turned now, she'd see him, and the last thing the
nine moon old matte grey tabby tom needed was to be accused of
stalking him. But he didn't mind. Letting an innocent little
thing like she was out on her own into the world just wasn't
right. Frostkit didn't need to be treated like he and his
brother, the deputy of ThunderClan, had been treated as kittens.
Left on their own by their father, who was Arabia. Cardinal of
the Tribe of Fallen Ash. But they didn't know that. Not even
Arabia knew that. So, it seemed that it did not matter. And it
       really didn't matter.
As soon as she stepped off the path, his heart stopped for a
moment, picking up speed and dashing ahead. Noticing that his
apprentice was only collecting some chamomile, a good remedy for
stressed nerves and a worked up heart, the handsome little tom
let himself relax ever so slightly. But it was in vain. The
second she cried out, he was at her side in a heart beat, icy
blue optics widened in horror as he wrapped his tail around her,
dragging her into him and gentle using his tongue to remove the
blood from the bump, not wanting it to stain her gorgeous pelt.
"Frosty, it's okay. Don't cry." He murmured. Wait. He used her
nickname. Frostedkit's nickname. The words brought tears to his
eyes, choking up his throat and making him want to sob, but he
blinked them away and gave a gentle sniff, looking back down at
the kitten who was pulled in quite close to him, with a gentle
gaze. And he couldn't help the small smile that danced along his
maw at that exact moment. Because Rapidfire was starting to
develop feelings, small feelings, for the little kitten.

Frostkit was rather surprised when the newly promoted Medicine
Cat rushed to her side, licking her fur and smothering her with
a feline barrier. She hadn't scented him. Perhaps her senses
hadn't fully compensated after all. However, most of her
surprise had been covered up by the pain her head. "Rappy... she
choked out, shaking as pangs of hurt hit her forehead, where
small dribbles of blood were slowly dripping down her face and
drenching the white flower tucked behind her ear red.
"... It h-h-hurts," the apprentice medicine cat sobbed, burying
her face in his silver fur (which only made it sting more). "I-I
       w-was o-o-only g-going t-t-t-o go ou-out for s-some
       ch-ch-cham-mom-mile," she explained shakily. "B-But o=only o-one
       o-of my eyes w-work and I-I r-ran in-into a t-tree..." she
trailed off, head lolling this way and that like a rag doll. She
didn't know how to treat head wounds... And perhaps her story
might have been taken as slightly amusing and entertaining. She
       hoped he didn't laugh.
In the midst of all of this, she did question why he had been
following after her. All she noticed where his brave blue eyes,
staring down at her with a piercing look. She could sense an
aura of deep feeling around him, but she decided not to probe
with her emotion manipulation in the moment. [b]"R-Rappy, it
h-hurts,"[b] she repeated, slowly drawing forced breaths as she
       shook uncontrollably, still crying.

Feeling his heartstrings pulled, the tom sighed and placed
another gentle lick, more of a kiss, on her forehead, lifting an
alabaster paw to her cheek and dabbing away at the blood flow,
not caring that his perfectly groomed paws were now stained a
bright crimson. It was a very small price to pay for her
comfort. If he was making her feel better, than he was the
luckiest tom in the world. Because she was beautiful. When she
grew older and toms started to show interest in her, Rapidfire
just wasn't sure how he'd react to it. He was a hopeless
fighter, but not a hopeless romantic, seeing as he'd managed to
charm Frostedpaw, Pinkpaw, and Newspaperpaw. A pretty busy man,
but he loved only Frostedpaw. His little angel, literally. But
he wouldn't want to let Frostkit go. She was to fragile, and
even though she was beautiful, he'd most likely try to conceal
her beauty from the world. There was just no way anyone was
       touching his little apprentice.
"Shh, I know it hurts. You were right to collect herbs for us,
but I need you to calm down. I'll treat your eye if we head back
to camp, unless you want to stay out here for a little bit. It's
your choice. Just so you can calm down a bit." There was no sign
of amusement in his voice or expression. Wouldn't it be rude to
laugh at her? It really would be, and he wasn't going to be
rude. Being rude wasn't really Rapidfire. Sure. Her was cocky,
arrogant, and rather obnoxious at times, but that could quite
possibly just be an act. For ThunderClan. In WindClan he
intended to be that gentle medicine cat, stereotypical and
predictable. Even though he was most likely the youngest
medicine cat ever, Rapidfire wanted to be mellow this time
around. Calm, caring, and compassionate. And it was starting
       now, here, with Frostedkit.

"N-No..." she croaked, tears still pooling in her eyes. "Y-You
       d-d-d-don't... y-y-you d-don't u-u-underst-stand. My eye's been
like this since I was a baby... He c-c-c-called me
d-d-d-ef-f-ec-c-tive, d-defective!" she wailed, blood seeping
into her right eye and blocking her vision entirely. It was by
now that she had been set into a state of panic. She was able to
see nothing, only blackness. That was her only eye left! What if
she was unable to see for the rest of her life? Frostkit
screamed piercingly, thrashing around in the silver male's grip.
       "I C-C-CAN'T S-SEE!" yelped Breakingstar's daughter, placing her
paws out in front of her as she tried to feel her way around.
Small patches of crimson dotted her eyelids, and she closed her
eyes, drawing in deep breaths. I can't see, she thought to
herself. I'm going to go blind, I CAN'T SEE! Telepathic waves
were (accidentally) shot towards the medicine cat, allowing him
to hear her thoughts. Mummy's going to be mad... she's going to
kill me. Mumma, please come. I need your help. She shivered,
sobbing softly against the bark of an alder tree, the subtle
scents of chamomile filling her nostrils.
       "You w-w-won't t-tell a-anyone, w-will y-you?" the small thing
questioned softly, sniffling. Her sobs subsided, but her body
was still racking with cold and fear. What would everyone think?
They would tell her that she didn't work right... that she was a
worthless mistake. They'd tease her for having no father, and on
top of that laugh at her for having no claws and now... no eyes!
Breathing quietly, she sunk her paws into the moist ground and
looked from side to side, but nothing showed. "Rappy? she said
       quietly. "W-Where are you?

"No, I don't understand honey. I'm right here, it's alright.
Tell you what. You can help pick the new apprentice that you'll
be training with, alright?" He murmured, giving her cheek a
gentle, comforting lick in an attempt to soothe her.
       [muse um where'd ya go?]

"I-It's alright," she sniffled, licking her lips. Her vision
still hadn't compensated, and she was beginning to worry. "No
one does, a-anyways." Merely using her scent to guide herself
back to the medicine den, small tears dripped down her delicate
features, creating deep tracks in her slate fur. It was true,
though. No one understood what it felt like to only see in one
direction or feel completely and utterly vulnerable when alone
or even with company. She was a useless scrap of meat. Now more
so than ever, with both eyes unable to see anything.
To be honest, she couldn't care less about the new apprentice.
She had always been sociable and kind, but the thought of having
to get to know and bond with someone else sounded scary and time
consuming. She didn't even want to talk to the silver tabby
anymore. He was treating her like a kitten, and although she was
she wanted to be equal. Not the adorable Pure as the Driven snow
baby girl daughter of the leader that was no force to be
reckoned with everyone made her out to be.
