FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS !
Q: Is the tribe pro-clan or anti-clan?
A: To be quite honest, they are neutral. They have alliances
with whom they like and grudges against whom they don't.
Q: Why can't my cat know who the Cardinal is? And why can't
their roleplayer tell everyone ICly?
A: The whole idea of the position is to be kept secret.
Otherwise, they could be identified from in or out of the tribe
and be assassinated, which is almost the same as killing the
leader. The difference? A Cardinal has one life. So out of
character, yes, anyone can know. But in the tribe during
roleplaying, only the One and the Cardinal will ever know.
Q: Will the volcano ever erupt?
A: No, it is dormant. It will never, ever erupt again, if it
even ever did centuries ago.
Q: If the One dies, who of the two Holy's will take the spot?
A: It is a fight, and during it, those in the tribe must shout
out who they think will win. The fight will go on until it is
clear one of them is wanted as One or until either die.

Ranks !
Ranks are deciphered by the Gods. Highly religious, they believe
their Leader, the One, is chosen by their Gods. Everything in
nature is represented by deities of all sorts. River God, Cloud
god, Fire god, anything. The second in command in thus chosen by
the One, who are the Holy. Can be any from one to two, but
remember, there is only one One. Following so far? The Holy are
the deputies, the seconds of the tribe. They carry out all
orders and devote their lives to keeping the tribe together.
Each Holy trains a cat to success them some time in life, known
as Agents. These trusted members must train to know everything
their mentors know and protect them with their life. If ever in
the decision, an Agent gives up their life for their Holy.
Period. But if they fail to carry on their duties they must then
take on the burdens the Holy passes on to them.
So now you're probably wondering where the whole medicine thing
comes in, eh? Healers. Their will only ever be two, as the
entire tribe must know herb knowledge. Half healing and half
fighting, everyone finds their place. The two Healers,
officially, however, must know everything and pass around common
knowledge to members alike. There is no head, nor mentor or
apprentice. The two are forever considered equals no matter how
long either have resided in the rank.
Ah yes, the Cardinal. Always a male, so that this position may
never bare a child and carry it in their womb. The have the
ultimate connection to all Gods, and are hand picked by the One,
and them only. No influence may come from another position. They
do not announce anything nor reveal who they are, yet everyone
know of the position. It may seem complicated, but really, it's
for protection. Only the One and the Gods will ever know who
holds the position. When they have visions and such, they will
converse with the One and then the words will be given to the
tribe through them, if needed. There is no stepping down
whatsoever, as it is a life time job. If you do want to retire?
Guess what? You're sacrificed. You are not aloud to roam the
tribe after having filled the position of ultimate knowledge.
Regular positions are the Members, who are similar to Warriors,
though, Apprentices are included. It's just the regular census
of the tribe . The Reserves, however, are lowlife cats who
either a.) are on probation of some sort, b.) are traitors
and/or do not believe, or c.) are temporarily in the tribe for
some reason. Many times the Reserves are given to the Gods in
sacrifice.
Territory !
Territory is plain and simple-- volcano. A cluster of craters
from prehistoric times, or Gods know what, are littered all
around the main volcano. Never erupting nor bubbling, or
anything like that, it stands cold and as a host for the tribe .
Inside, sure, there may not be a lot to eat, but it is enough to
get by. Some strong cats may venture out and get more than what
their home provides, but the One does not find it necessary. It
is a choice. The volcano prey and foliage inside suffices, as
shrubs of things oddly grow inside. Fertile soil and small dip
like drains hold pools of water, which luckily are not toxic, as
well as small waterbound prey like frogs. These, quite rare, are
a delicacy of the tribe and are to be eaten only at such
occasions. Other than all of that, spikey cliffs and jagged
rocks stick out on the inside so that ample cats may climb atop
and exit the volcano through the top.
Religion!
Religion, the most valuable thing to each and every one in the
group. Sacrifices and feasts are held monthly for this
polytheistic group. Not only do they believe so highly in their
religion, but to some extent, they would all die for their Gods.
Hence said sacrifices and whatnot. But yes, everyone is forced
to believe or may not live with them. In fact, immediate
execution is prompted otherwise. The rules? Believe that
everything is given, and should not be taken. Nature is a gift,
so don't take it for granted. Have hope and faith that your life
will be protected with good prosperity.
History!
History? Not much to say, honestly. They are a tribe that arose
with common interest, nothing but the sole desire to found a
safe environment of peaceful folk. There have been four
generations of Leaders, so therefore only seven or so decades of
existence officially. They began in the tree tops-- a dense
jungle that held many secrets. Wretched twolegs came in and
broke their spirits and life by pummeling the trees. Their home
was knocked down and thrown to the chippers. This then led to an
ultimate trek where the current One, Atlas, brought his tribe to
the volcano where they now live.
Summary !
ToFA are a polytheistic group of respectful cats. They dwell in
a volcano and have lived there with their most recent leader, or
One, named Atlas. Under the leader are the Holy's, who train
their successors called Agents. Members of the tribe either heal
or fight, but there are only ever two Healers. Lastly, there is
a secret position, Cardinal, who connects with the Gods and is
only known by the One, who chooses them to fill the position.
