Peeking at the other two, she purred. "Wanna go explore? I bet
we could find a tunnel or something that could be our secret
hangout, you know?"

"Really? Th-that'd be cool," Toothpaw replied. Now that she
thought about it, this might be her first time having real
friends.

"Daddy and I used to go exploring all the time." Her eyes turned
sad, and her smile wilted a little at her words. "With my mom
and brother. Sometimes we still do, but not very often anymore."

"Singing two leg's songs? came the voice of a tawny young Tom
with vivid emerald eyes. Pokerpaw took a few steps foward and
nodded in greeting to the fellow apprentices. He smiled kindly.
It's not like he meant to intrude. No, the little cream tabby
was just bored out of his mind and seeking companionship.

Her smile came back full force at the appearance of the
tomcat. "Yeah. Wanna come explore with us?" She looked at her
two friends. "If you gals don't mind him comin' along,
'course."

The sandy colored car raised a brow in suspicion. Her voice.. It
was quivering? He gave himself a quick look over to make sure he
wasn't so ragged that he ha forced the cat into fear. No.
Pokerpaw wasn't really scary at all, just an average Tom cat
looking for his next adventure.
"You okay there Toothpaw?"

Purring, she hauled herself to her paws and nudged
Toothpaw. "Come on, you guys. Let's go explore." She kept a wary
eye out, knowing that Toothpaw's bullies were likely nearby, and
if they were... Well. The Canadian Lynx cub knew how to use her
size to her advantage. If they tried anything, she'd make it
clear that an attack on Toothpaw was an attack on Dancingpaw as
well.
