left out in the dark [wildfire, open]

Oakley scented smoke in the air, he looked up and saw huge grey
clouds erupting from the distance. "Fire!" The alpha cried,
jumping to his paws.

Sprout scented the smoke and immediately tensed up in panic.
"Where do we go?" he whimpered loudly, running to Oakley's side
for protection.
Violet had on a grin like she was the one who started the fire.
Finally, something exciting was happening! The delta took this
as her chance to be a hero. The tan and brown female hopped onto
a rock and looked at the beautiful flames that might engulf them
all soon, and tried to judge the best place for her pack to
flee.

Maya looked around, then finally jumped up beside Violet. She
looked all around, and finally barked, "There! We can go to the
water."

Lyra cowered by Sprout, whimpering.
Oakley looked to Maya and nodded. "To the water! Follow me!" He
started running in one direction, away from the flames.

She ran after Oakley, looking back only once to see the fire
getting closer.

Sprout nudged Lyra to start moving, then started to jog after
his pack, glancing back every now and again to see the flames'
progress. Now that he was sure he wasn't in danger of being
barbecued, the sandy colored wolf was just full of unused
adrenaline, and he wasn't sure what to do with it all. Sprout
decided to just circle around his friends protectively, hazel
gaze not really trained on anything specific.
Violet growled under her breath when Maya found a safe spot
before her, but didn't say anything out loud; she wasn't an
attention wh*re, at least not publicly. Although, she did make
sure she was one of the wolves in the lead as tgen made their
trek away from danger.

Lyra started moving, she even tried to inch her way towards the
front.
Oakley frequently looked back at his pack, making sure that they
were safe.

Glide found himself the closest to the fire excitedly and
quickly consuming the dry grass. He let out several yips at the
sparks reaching for his fur, but luckily he was able to leap his
way out of the flames attempting to surround him. At first he
was running behind, and the rest of his pack way ahead of him as
they ran straight for the river. Though soon, his fast legs
carried him swiftly to the back of the group.

Little Feather, although fascinated by the shapes the smoke
made, ran after the group. The young pup tried her best to keep
up, pushing herself harder and harder, not wanting to be left
behind.
